LITTLE LEAGUE WEEKENDS XXIV

Little League Baseball and the Seattle Mariners are teaming up once again in 2010 to bring you Little League Weekends, one of the biggest events at Safeco Field. All Little Leaguers plus their friends and family are invited to participate in these fun-filled games, featuring promotional giveaways, on-field parades and tickets at a very special price!

This event frequently sells out at Safeco Field! All orders are filled on a FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED basis, so get your order to your league representative as soon as possible.

Sun. May 23, 2010 1:10 p.m. (vs. San Diego Padres)
Sun. June 6, 2010 1:10 p.m. (vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim)

DOWNLOAD THE FORM, fill it out, give the form to your manager with check made out to Port Townsend Little League, managers: give collected forms to Rich Hill, PTLL Treasurer

(NOTE TO LEAGUE REPS: Deadline for orders to Mariners office is April 23 for May 2nd game, April 30 for May 8, May 14 for May 23 game, and May 28 for June 6 game).

How to prepare for game day:

• Wear your uniform to the Mariners game
• Bring extra, warm clothes - it can get chilly with the roof closed on a cloudy windy day ... (better to have them in a back pack then to be cold).
• Water bottles are not allowed into the park, FYI.
• Get to the game by your own means.
  The way I usually do this is to drive to Bainbridge, park and walk onto the ferry then walk to the ball park. It's about a mile walk from the ferry to Safeco field (DETAILS BELOW).
• I like to get there 1-1/2 hours early to watch batting practice, hang out, etc.
• LITTLE LEAGUE - the kids & parents get to walk around the field will be at 11:30 AM, so plan to get there by 11:30. (see below)

8:00-8:30 Depart Port Townsend by car. (the bus will arrive too late to do the field tour, but if you are taking the bus, here is the link)

8:30-10:00 Drive to Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal

10:00 AM Park. Note parking space number.
Put $10 / appropriate amount of cash in the slot for your parking space. Get on Ferry.

11:00 AM Arrive Seattle

11:00 - 11:30 Walk to Safeco (about 1 mile) - click for map

For Little League field tour:

11:30 Enter on South Atlantic Street - That's the south side - across & just up from parking lot to enter directly next to where the lineup will be for the field tour - which begins at 11:30 AM

11:30 - 12:00 Walk around field on the warning track.

12:15 Go to seats or concessions or whatever

1:10 First Pitch - Play Ball !
