Description

T-ball is a great introduction to the game baseball /softball. Our program serves children from 5-8 years old. T-ball is NOT intended to be competitive but fun and for the athletes to learn the fundamentals of the game. Athletes will learn: hitting, throwing, fielding, and basic base running. The equipment that is provided by the league includes: batting tee, reduced injury baseballs, batting helmets, catchers gear and coaching guides. Gloves and cleat are not provided but donations are often given to the league for the use of the players. Please ask an official for any information.

Practices are usually twice a week until the season starts, and then the practices will become two games a week. Games are scheduled weekday nights beginning at 6pm and lasting 2-3 three innings about 1 to 1 ½ hours. Two Saturday games are scheduled with two Jamborees at the beginning and the end of the season. Games are played at the Port Townsend Little League Fields and East Jefferson Fields (Chimacum); one game is scheduled at the South Jefferson Little League (Quilcene).

Parent participation is always needed: helping with drills, maintain athletes in the dugout (helmet changes), starting a snack schedule, coaching, concessions, and field maintenance. The Port Townsend Little League is a 100% volunteer program.
